How to reach Cartagena
Cartagena is one of the most important ports on the Caribbean coast of Colombia and one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations: a charming mix of the historical and the modern, the colonial center of the city was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. There are also many beautiful natural areas close to the city, including beaches, coral reefs, mangrove forests and seagrass prairies: perfect spots for snorkeling, diving, birdwatching, and other activities. In 2018, Universidad de los Andes, one of our CEMarin member universities, opened its Caribbean campus justoutside the city. This is our venue for the ICMS2023. Transport will be provided from the center of Cartagena to the ICMS2023; the cost of this daily transportation is includedin the registration fee.
Cartagena is easily reached by air from Bogotá, Medellín and other major cities in Colombia. Most international flights will connect through Bogotá although there are some direct international flights to Cartagena from other countries.
