He has a background in Management of Marine and Coastal Resources and Marine Biology (Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, Colombia). He is part of te research group in Coral Reefs. His research interests include: Didactics of History, Environmental Education and Society and Environmental History.

She is part of te research group in Bioprospection and Biotechnology. Her research interests include: Ecology of Aquatic Macroinvertebrates, Hydrobiological Resources, Limnology, Bioindication, Island river Ecology, Seasonal river Ecology and River landscape Ecology.
Catalina is Ph.D. in Marine Science (University of Bremen, Germany), with a background in forestal engineering and environmental conservation (National University of Colombia). Her research interests include: Palynology in marine sediments, paleoechology of coastal environments, paleoechology and human occupation.
Andrés is Ph.D. in Marine Science and Tecnology (University of Cantabria, Spain), with a background in Marine Science and Technologies and Civil Engineering (Valle University, Colombia). He is part of the Research Group in Oceanography and Coastal Engineering ‘Oceánicos’. His research interests include: coastal hydrodynamics and sediment transport processes, regeneration of beaches and interaction between beaches and coastal structures, mathematical modeling of port hydrodynamics, laboratory and field measurements and remote sensors.
